An old mining settlement on NM 14, the Turquoise Trail, north of the Sandias between San Antonito and Madrid. Very rural, with few neighbours and long distances between them.
Zoning and the site permit go through Santa Fe County. The installation itself is permitted and inspected by the state's Manufactured Housing Division.
Much of the ground around Golden lies outside the Albuquerque urbanized area, which is where USDA Rural Development draws its line, so a USDA loan may be possible on land you own. Check the parcel on the eligibility map before you count on it.
